Journal #1 Rouge

To commence the explanation of the color red to a blind man, I would declare to that person that the color red belongs to the primary colors. This color named red, colors many of the objects and nature that belong to the world. Then, I would articulate that the color red has a vibrant feature and a person could see it clear from a distance. This color red also evokes feelings of love as it being compared to love and roses. In Valentine's Day, many couples exchange red roses and red valentine hearts in order to demonstrate the love that they have for each other. In some cases, red has the usage of evil or gruesome in life. The color of blood has a red color, and in murders or gruesome movies, blood exemplifies that red can also cause fear. Not only that, but when I was a child, the pain was not the cause for my downfall of my tears, it was the reaction to my first contact with blood. I have seen this reaction in other kid's faces when they acknowledge the vibrant red blood on their damaged elbow, and have also determined that the color red can have a strong impact on a person's life. The color red has a great importance in life and it's unfortunate that blind people do not have accessibility to perceive this exquisite color. 

Journal #2 Competition in America

Competition in America, has crucial importance for our society. Everybody in America believes in the pursuit of happiness and compete to accomplish their dreams. These competitions are healthy to the point where companies or industries begin to negatively affect their employees. I have seen problems coming from low wage cuts or the dismissal of employees, due to their ethnicity. Then, the unfairness of competition ignites and unables the people to pursue their goals. In the beginning, my father struggled to acquire work or had lower wages than normal white workers, considering that he came from Mexico. Ever since the start of immigration in America, immigrants have suffered to compete with regular white workers and this has come from hostility from the whites. The whites would declare that immigrants such as Chinese, Mexican, or European had stolen their jobs, due to applying for jobs for less payment. Some companies took initiative and nativism in accordance to this and excluded immigrants to work or receive even lower payments. The Chinese suffered the most from this when the extreme Chinese Exclusion Act was put into play and denied immigration from China. In my position, I have taken in competition as my determination in entering a college or university. It has gotten harder to enter a college or university contrasting many years before, but the competition has gotten stronger and you have to establish your position firmly in order to enter one.

Journal #3 Plumbing

Since the beginning of the school year, I have loathed my new elective class, plumbing. Although the class exemplifies a career that one can create acceptable profits, it does not interest me. Against my willingness, I have learned that I can utilize the lessons in plumbing class and apply them to real life situations. My dad jokes about my plumbing class and asserts that I could fix all the plumbing problems in our house. The splendid aspect about plumbing class, and declared countless of times from my plumbing teacher, that I could use this experience to have a possible career in plumbing. My future does not lie in the plumbing business, but the wonderful idea of already having an option to choose for a career welcomes me. In my tiresome plumbing class, I have acquired abilities such as soldering copper pipes, solvent welding abs pipes, setting a toilet, and cutting cast-iron pipe. I could use all these new found abilities in a future plumbing career and I would have advantage over other unexperienced persons wanting to have a place in plumbing. I already know that when the toilet does not flush, the reason applies that the string that attaches to the cup that covers the flow of water inside the tank, appears not being attached. My plumbing teacher clarifies that that situation as basic in the plumbing industry and if a plumber has resolved that in a customer's house, they can charge from fifty to one-houndred dollars. All that money can come from not putting the string back to the cup, and now I have learned that and I know how to fix it. Even though plumbing does not have all my interest, the subject does give me experience for a future career if I was not able to accomplish my dream.

Journal #4 Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth president of America, has a great place in history. In the inauguration of Barack Obama, he regarded Lincoln as one of his influences, and it's only true that he can influence many. He signed the Emancipation Proclamation and he brought light into America, when the bloody Civil War was was happening. He was a republican and he chose the hardest decisions the best that he could and delivered freedom to slave who were part of the Confederacy. Lincoln resembles the historical figure that I intend to impersonate, due to his intelligence in decision making. Even though he was a republican and supported the union in the war, he cared about the south and wanted to retain all America. When the war was coming to its end, he iterated his famous speech, other known as the "Gettysburg Address." Within that speech, he respected the dead soldiers who fought diligently for their cause, either being from the north or the south. Lincoln then proceeded in telling the public that the time to get stronger has come, and the union should stay united with that strength. After the war ended, his intentions for the inclusion of the Confederate states began at a rapid pace. Lincoln passed a law that made it easy for the Confederate states to reenter the union and most of them agreed to his plan. What demonstrated the power and influence of Lincoln, was the aftermath of his murder. The government started to fail and passed laws that were different from the ones that he planned for. Abraham Lincoln has influenced many people of America, including me, and I would want to personify him in order to acknowledge his struggles and the passion he had for a powerful and stable union.

Journal #5 Children of Africa

I have just acquired one million dollars and I would use the money to feed the the starving children of Africa. In some places of Africa, I have seen reports or documentaries mentioning the harsh living conditions these children live in, and their scarce availability of food. I have seen pictures that show the skeletal bodies of these kids, and that can evoke emotional feelings. In order to aid them, I would use the one million dollars to create facilites in which they can feed the children and the elders too. I would establish countless of these facilities in the places of Africa which are harmed the most by the hunger. The food that provides the facilities are the standard for the survival of the poor, such as beans, fruits, and vegetables. I would also create more can drives in America in order to send these to Africa. It conveys the attitude of Americans when they intend to help the ones in need, and this would benefit from numerous can drives. They way of living of these Africans are very poor, and it's up to us to use what we have leftover to help the less fortunate. If these Africans would acquire access to a television and could see typical american shows, they would wish to have that life and the unfairness of life hinders that. Instead of wasting my riches in uninteresting luxuries, I intend to to minimize the hunger in Africa by feeding the ones in need.

Journal #6 Get to Work People!

I do not enforce many changes that have a great significance, but I have antipathy to my fellow peers who choose the easy way in life and do not try their best in school. I have a friend that I have known for almost ten years and just this year, he got sent to learning center, due to his poor grades and working ethics. Last year, I had him for my Geometry class and I would always encourage him to give it his all in school, but yet he would not listen to me and chose to quit. Ever since, I have had a share of guilt within me and I motivate all my friends to work hard in order to succeed in school. I do not want to lose them and not able to see them for a long lapse of time. I may sound demanding or give pressure to my friends, but I always tell them to do their homework and I often help them. Some do ask me to let them copy the answers, but that really works to a short time. They copy in order to gain some points, but when it comes to the point fo a test, they often fail it and a huge amount of points are lost there. It would aspire contradictions towards me, if I were failing, but I am determined in school and attempt at getting excellent grades. My friends could see as a type of role model that likes to enjoy having time with friends, but there comes a time and place for everything, and I want them to accompany me with success.

Journal #7 The Computer and the Internet

Introducing these new ideas would shock the socitey that I would introduce it to. The primitive culture in question is the normal American society of the 1800's. Years later after, thoughts would rise about getting the man to fly and attain improved transportation by the inclusion of automobiles. At these times, the introduction of the computer and its ability to use the internet to communicate all over the world would leave the public speachless. First of all, they would not believe me and some extremists would say I am a witch, but as a representantive of the future I demonstrate its capabilities. I tell them that with this incredible machine, you can navigate an appiclation named the "internet" and "surf the web." With these terms, I would not sursprise myself if they would contradict my ideas, they probably did not even surf the waves. Inside the internet, one can have the capabilities to either communicate online, watch videos, and listen to their preferable music. Now in these times, video was not invented, yet but I explain to them what it composes of. I clarify that later in the future, people could use tapes in order to capture motion. This would later evolve into being able to upload it to the internet and share it to the world. After my quick speech, I leave using an awesome time portal, and I am certain that my information about the computer and the internet has enhanced their abilities of evolving technology.

Journal #8 "Why Would Somebody Do That?"

It may sound ridiculing or obnoxious, but the quote, "why would somebody do that?" acts as the quote that I can best relate to. In the happening of that unfortunate event in Castle Park where a student got himself into a "horse play" incident, I decided to speak with a reporter about it. My friend then showed me the article about the incident, and I saw my words "why would somebody do that?" quoted in the article. Now, I know that  a quote from a famous or intelligent person would act as one that I could shape my life around, but those simple words that I described the incident, demonstrated how I perceive the world. I think that an incident like that carries inhuman and destructive feelings and I just would not wish any harm to anybody. I do not want anybody to suffer because it looks mournful and it makes other suffer. Then it comes to this simple quote, which leads me to question the purpose of an atrocious act such as that. Did the people who commited this inmoral act think it was funny, or did they commit to it just for the desire of the sufferring of the unlucky football player? Not only does my quote imply on tiny problems such as this, but can relate to serial killers who kill people with strange desires. The quote, "why would somebody do that?" describes how I think about the immoral acts that humans can act and for what reason the act is necessary.

Journal #9 The Holiday of Unity

My holiday would represent the feelings of unity within everybody in the world. The name of the holiday is simple, the "Day of Unity" and on that day people from all over the world get to gather with their families and friends and enjoy being together with the persons they love. This holiday is integrated in Febuary 11, and sparks the time of unity into the world. I think that being alone can be the worst pain that somebody can witness and can remember that there are people who care about you, in the "Day of Unity." This holiday of mine can resemble Christmas in the aspect of uniting with your family, but I dislike how people can use  Christmas as an excuse to have to reunite with their family. People who do that either do not want to see a family member they are not fond of, or just celebrate Christmas for the presents. When deciding to include the "Day of Unity" into the calendar, I want it to come with a special feeling that conveys to people that not only must they gather together for one day, but that being always together can make them stronger. Families that witness success and hardship together are the ones that fortified from their own pure love. Even though I am endorsing this holiday with passionate feelings, I was never one to support this type of uniting and conviving with relatives. The reason does not mean that I dislike those activities, but I was never the leader in taking charge of something as important as having a family reunion. With the addition of a holiday soon known as "Day of Unity" I have realized how delighted someone can feel as they are together who the people who they care about, and I want everybody in the world to experience those feelings of unity.

Journal #10 Being a Man

This happened recently and the advice was delivered by my dad. He told me that I am nearing the age of an adult and dicussed what an adult was and their purpose. Articulating that I would gain many responsibilites and that I had to acknowledge what was the best choice in making decisions. He mentioned details such as lazyness and arrogance which are qualities that can possess me once in a while. The details were mentioned , to exemplify that those pieces of my personality must disappear if I would want to be successful in life. He would itirate how he did not pass high school by ditching school and passing the day strolling in the streets. Like many others, he laments the decisions that he made in his early life, but that is why he motivates me. He does not want me to follow the same path, and after working in his job for a few days, I have realized that i do not want to that for the rest of my life. He works in the tile industry and can cause tiredness and does not award any fun. Then, he proceeds on clarifying that I should work at a job, and enjoy it. In watching people who do not do any type of labor and who gain an abundance amount of money, he encourages me to approach that type of job. I have told him that my dream is to commentate sports game, a commentator. He always has respected my choice as a career, but has also demanded that I should investigate if I can profit from such a profession. My dad has always been a figure in my life who I would have debt for, he tries to change my perception of the world and cares to give me important advices about life.

Journal #11 What Drives Me

The universities are interested in my capicity and quality as a student, but I would like for a university to question me what purpose in life do I exist for, and wether or not I can accomplish my goals. I believe that a university would not care to question me on something that cannot matter or bring immediate success, but that would make me realize that there are people who belong to prestigious schools and would appreciate watching their students succeed. Recently, I have used all my sweat and determination on completing and prevailing over the tasks that I receive at school, in order to exemplify my attitude of success. When the university would ask me that question, I  would answer that I will not disgrace any oppurtuniy that I would attain in this university and use it to my advantage and succeed in the profession of journalism. My dream as a toddler has been to commentate on sports games, most importantly soccer. Although, I could also decide on being a sports reporter or an analyst that discusses about sports news. In order to attain experience on these fields, I would select journalism and communications to enhance my abilities and accomplishing my dream. My studying times would not only mirror the large times that I take in my high school studying, but I would generate more success from pure determination. That, my dear university, would answer my question that I hope you would recite to me.

Journal #12 Mom, I'm in a Movie!

First of all, my movie would have showings of extreme psychological trauma and how I live through it. I consider myself a determined person and dwells in fear when I can't get what I want when I attempt hard for it. It begins. The hot day of Mexicali causes my head to shed many tears of sweat while striking a hatchet on a huge, durable tree. I keep thinking, this Saturday was suppossed to have joy as to seeing my favorite soccer team play for the pass to the semi-finals, yet I have to do painful work. I had started the work with pain in my head already, I began at nine while having to wait on eating untill it was one in the afternoon. I was limited in energy and was silent throughout the working area. My dad would yell at me to continue using the sharp machete or the strong hatchet in order to continue the dismantling of the tree. I would comply to his demand and would inject the tree with my strikes from my favorite hatchet. After fifty strikes, my father tells me that he wants to continue in order to allow me rest. I don't listen to him, in fact, I ignore him and continue striking the tree with no sense of success or determination. He grabs me by the shoulder and tells me that I can rest now, and this time, I do accept that offer. The day had ignited inadequate and I began my refreshing shower in order to watch my passionate soccer team play a game they had pressure on. It is quickly shown their humiliating defeat and I start yelling in such fury and cause my dad(who also supports this soccer team) to gain inflammatory reactions. Those would enact the first fifteen minutes of a movie where I recall the unfairness in life and how I react to my problems and mistakes that account as many. This movie additionally contains a mournful reaction to an essay I did poorly on, and could have gained an impressive score if I had not made a simple mistake.

Journal #13 Hi, My Name is Alejandro Ortiz

Hi, my name is Alejandro Ortiz and I am glad to have a roommate and would have delight in getting to know each other. Im going to commence by saying that I am a person who enjoys life and almost always has a vibrant attitude. I rarely get infuriated and I prefer not to fight and just ignore provoking actions towards me. I can be quite the jokester and would not refrain from saying jokes or pulling simple tiny pranks. I enjoy sports and my favorite sports are soccer, mma, and football. In describing soccer, I prefer to call it football as well, considering that I appreciate watching mexican soccer and in Mexico it represents it as "futbol."Aside from delighting in sports and its intensity, I also take liking in relaxing in playing video games or card games. My favorite video games consist of sport games and fighting games, while I enjoy playing Yugioh as a card game. That aspect of myself can describe an awkward identification of myself, but those are the activities that I adore. Exercise contributes to the activites that I am most fond of in my daily life. Almost everyday I spend a hard working hour in order to maintain my form, and I have always said that a shower after a nice long run can award refreshness. Although I relish on exercising, I don't usually compete in sports unless it convives of having fun. I used to participate in sports, and I will keep those memories forever, but I don't take part in any sports anymore due to my character and attitude. Well, my future roommate, this has been my letter of introduction to let you know how I am and that I would delight in being your new roommate.

Journal #14 Uncontrollable Wealth

The quote,"He does not possess wealth, it possesses him," is a quote that conveys truth in the desire of money in human beings. Everybody aspires for money and power and will do just about anything to obtain it. Either by harsh determination or being born in to a rich family, it is very common to acknowledge people being controlled and abused by their money. Once they are at the top, they also dismiss the ways how they started and can throw away money easy. In the quote, being possessed by money can evoke a strong desire to aquire it and not care for anything else in life. My father has always told me that, money is not everything in the world, nor it can buy everything. The subjects who abuse their vast amounts of money are disgraceful, because their are people who are in need and would appreciate money to survive. An awesome english teacher once told me that, if you don't give something back to the communtiy, you never actually existed. These abusers I have noticed often rely on using money to cure all their problems, being problems with the law, their family, or their health. A terminal disease won't be cured with money, and that's when those people acknowledge the fact that money can't buy everything in this world.

Journal#15 More Money

Including diverse clubs in a college campus would greatly improve reputation of the college and attain money for further activies. The clubs that will refresh the tasteness in the school would include specific video game clubs such as FIFA series and card game clubs such as the Yugioh series. I am delighted to know that an abundance of people are intrigued by these activities and will enjoy them at a social place such as a college campus. To acquire entrance to these special clubs, an application with a low fee is required. Not only these clubs are admitted in the college, other clubs are admittable with different aspects.  These other clubs can contain art, video, or other faculties that interest the people. Since these clubs would gain a huge following in the college campus, it is foreseen that the college can gain a considerable amount of money. In America. we are suffering from a vast debt that has harmed many states that most, including California. The golden state has had problems with debt, and that problem has dwelled into colleges and other types of schools. Integrating clubs into college campuses could lose money at first, but the continuation and the determination of students confiding into their favorite clubs can vastly improve a college's reputation, and more importantly, improve their economic status.

Journal #16 Now or Never!

Ever since I was a chubby, and cute tiny toddler, I suffered from bullying from a cousin. He was 365 days older than me, but he would always get a feeling of happyness when toying around with me. It was'nt until I was 7 or 8 years old(I don't remember), when my family and my cousins family united at Qualcomm Stadium to watch the San Diego Padres play(a long time ago!). At first it was all fine, we were all having a nice time by tailgating before the game. I was sitting on the trunk of my dad's pickup truck, while enjoying my purple gameboy. I remember I was playing a Power Rangers game(I loved Power Rangers). What I remember next, was when I was getting a seat to watch the game, my obnoxious cousin said something offensive which gave me a sort of a dilemma. The dilemma was, either suffer from his stupid acts of annoyance or get in trouble if I punch him in the face. Well I didn't really think it, as I struck him in the face with a nice right hook! Even though his mouth started to bleed, I felt very relieved. After that incident, he hasn't annoyed me....until I was like 12 or 13, but again I came on top.

Journal #17 This Time...It's Personal!

An issue that really grinds my gears is the war on drugs in Mexico. I think that it is ridicolous as how I see the country in which I was born to suffer from such pain as this. Now and then, I think to myself as how the narcs relentlessly kill many people and that gives me a somber feeling. I then proceed in thinking that those people are inhuman and they take the easy way in life, because they do not want to work hard. What I think that is annoying is when people try to act like they are a narc by listening to songs made for narcs and by acting like one. Although, the narc issue can be compared to the mafias in America and the yakuza in Japan, I have a strong reaction to the narcs in Mexico. The worst part, is that this grotesque issue lessens the amount of turists in Mexico, because of the danger of dying. Although you would have to be inside the narcs "territorry" or "problem" in order to be in actual danger. I just wish that this issue would just end and restore some peace in the country.

Journal #18 An Entertaining Campus

I consider the school campus to be alright, but i do have two reasons to improve it. First of all, i would love to include more trees in order to create a more natural environment. The trees would be integrated in the grass areas(obviously) and would have to have vibrant green leaves, in order to capture that feeling of nature. I believe that an abundance of people would concede that including more trees into our campus can make it more lively and exuberant. The second feature that I would like to be included, would be the addition of sexier tables to eat at. In my opinion, i feel uncomfortable sitting in those rock hard tables, and it is more uncomfortable when you are eating and you are thinking about it(It is very annoying!). I would request tables that are longer in size and have some cushion for the seats. I realize that this offer could be expensive, but I would comply that many would appreciate to eat and hang out with their friends in sexy tables!

Journal #19 More education=More Respect

School attendance should be mandatory, without a question. Attending school makes the students gain more knowledge and perceive the world with higher intelligence. I have learned that being more intelligent frees me from being an ignorant person, and that also aids to a better personality. The real reason for the mandatory attendance of school begins in improving the oppurtunites of students in America. Students that attend school can  work hard to improve their grades and will always have a more knowledge than a person who rarely steps into a school campus. If attendance to school would not be mandatory, many students can transform into homeless and have problems of getting jobs and having a terrible future. This would also harm the respect of the education in America, and it would suffer from more ridicule from annoying nations. Even if school attendance would not shift to being mandatory, the person that would want to succeed in life, would not miss a single day.

Journal #20:The Ability to Speak with Lions

If I would attain the ability to speak with any species of animal, I would choose to speak with lions. Ever since I was a kid, lions have been my favorite animal. Their mane around their head intrigued me, because it resembled them as true kings of the jungle. What I would first ask a lion, is how they can live a lazy life. Almost all the times that I have seen a lion in television, they are lying in the ground sleeping. I guess they do resemble the nature of a king, because they rest while their wife hunts for food. I would proceed with a question mentioning why they do not go hunting, because they are strong and have huge fangs to use for their advantage. I believe there has to be lions that do the hunting for their pack, but I would like to hear their reason and how they would approach in hunting their prey. I would also be delighted in speaking with the female lions in order to hear their thoughts about hunting for their male counterparts. I would think that female lions would feel disappointed at how they have to always feed the males.
